Climate adaptation vs mitigation

Carbon Champions nearly made it onto the news today as national press seek examples of climate adaptation to support today’s release of Climate Change Committee’s report into the subject.  Climate adaptation is how we cope with the effects of climate change in cricket now; climate mitigation is how we reduce or prevent the causes of climate change in the future.

We’ve been working with EAGCC to do this for a while now in adapting grounds, property and fixtures to the increasingly extreme weather from a 2% increase above pre-industrial levels in 2050. Adapting behaviour is technically climate mitigation but equally important and a key part of our C20 Cricket game which predicts a dystopian future unless action happens now.
