We’re celebrating COP 26 (not sure why) by launching a new online community to co-ordinate environmental action at our Claydon Court HQ near Ipswich.

This idea is nothing new, and we we first built an intranet in WordPress way back in 2011. It was used for a few years then fizzled out as everyone got to know their way round. We’re now rebooting the idea to support our sustainable business / carbon neutral ambitions.

The platform again is based on WordPress but instead of bespoke code, this time uses the BuddyBoss online community components. It’s more powerful than we need at the moment but means we can extend the community wider without starting from scratch again.

We’ve been testing out the platform and community-building ideas during the summer as part of our Carbon Centurions project which may look familiar! We didn’t hit our ‘100 clubs in 100 days’ target but learned a lot and the fight against climate change continues.
