Been searching for some grants so our cohort of businesses can fund the suggested work, one that looks very good but I hadn’t really considered is to help reduce water usage.
The Grant is called Aqua Fund, I am waiting to hear the specifics but you don’t have to fund match and it is open to any size businesses. They guarantee savings on water bills! Now that is tempting, but it is not all about the financial benefits reducing water usage is key to the battle against climate change it is not all just about CO2. Out of the 70-75% of the earth that is water only 1% is accessible to humans, with rising populations and increased drought and changes in weather patterns, water scarcity is becoming more common in UK with hose pipe bans last year and the year before in the south. My Granddad was a Agricultural surveyor in the middle east and he all ways said the next large war will be over water, hearing figures such as these makes it ring a potential! Time to make your businesses more resilient to these changes perhaps?
A market that I think we would all like to be resilient to is rising energy costs! So by adapting to more energy saving technology will not only save on energy bills now but prevent you from perishing in the hands of energy prices! Another grant I found, the Energy efficiency financing scheme, again waiting more information so will keep you posted. However I do know any size business is eligible and you don’t have to match fund! This fund will help you to fund most things from building insulation and lighting to bio mass boilers and solar thermal systems!
