Discovered this website, which is designed so that the community helps you learn a language, by marking your assignments and allowing you to talk to people who speak the language you want to learn. It is a lovely system in that although you get help yourself, you provide help to people trying to learn your language making it mutually beneficial for all parties.

You are also rewarded when you complete assignments and help other people with Busuu berries. These Busuu berries can buy items (i.e. gnomes and snapping plants) to put in your virtual garden which grows and is improved as you help more people and learn more, making it a visual concept of your progress in learning the language.

Can we use this technique for LCD? Giving trees (as mentioned this previous post) will create a real garden but can this be added online so people can see how active they are on the site instantly by looking at their profile. A potential technique for this would be for each part of LCD programme completed you are rewarded with points/berries/kudous/footprints? Giving footprints would create the path to carbon neutrality which could have key markers on for the champions for when they compete tasks, making this a more measurable visual experience that they are more likely to continue along.

For advisors and mentors they can receive footprints that build up to numerous prizes as they give more advice reviewing peoples action plans and changes they have made, leading to a community given charters. I am yet to think of a way for the site to be completely mutually beneficial for all parties like Busuu is any suggestions?
