Sudbury RUFC are the first rugby club in the county to express an interest in ‘Plug In Suffolk’.  A key part of the Suffolk Greenest County initiative, the Plug In Suffolk programme provides fully funded Electric Vehicle (EV) charge points for community sites. 

Chairman Shaun Smith commented “Sudbury invests in future generations both on and off the pitch.   As a club we will do all we can to reduce the impact of climate change, especially for our youth section who are likely to be impacted the most. We are also keen to support our local community, and hope that any new facility can be shared with them too.”

Sports clubs are often in the middle of their communities, have accessible car parks and are ideal locations.  Allocation of funding depends on filling gaps in the provision of EV chargers.  There are 18 amateur rugby clubs in Suffolk and all could apply.  For more information please Contact Us.
