Back in 2010, Suffolk County Council launched Low Carbon Champions. It was a comprehensive programme that offered training, mentoring, auditing, marketing and financial support to small organisations in Suffolk.
The programme ended after two years but the legacy lives on through the Suffolk Carbon Charter. Carbon Champions supports this initiative by widening the scope of interest beyond organisations to individuals and communities.
To find out more, I’m talking to people on the Suffolk’s 25 By 25 programme. Launched in May 2023, the aim is to reduce organisation carbon emissions by 25% by 2025. This sounds a long way off but it isn’t.
To get the message home, interviewees hold up Car Share Scorecards * showing the number of weeks left to go until 2025. Don’t let this put you off, it’s never too late to get involved as future posts will confirm!
Most people featured already share what they have achieved online. And if they haven’t, then we will. Our posts don’t duplicate the what, but try to shine a light on the how and the why. We can all learn from their successful outcomes.
