Meeting with Will Sambrook today we covered how to best to engage people to change their behaviour! Will has a lot of experience in the field not just environmentally related so his experience and knowledge is a real nugget of wisdom! From what he has learnt over the years three days of training engage people more due the commitment of moving through a process along with people they get to know along the path. This agrees with and builds on nicely with what I wrote in my earlier post. However the issues with this is that a) everyone travelling to event completely opposes what we are trying to achieve and will release excessive carbon and b) an event be it just one where everyone can meet is unlikely to be the only spark to an online community because surly if you are willing to take time out of your day to go to an event then you will look at a website and communicate where you feel you can add your expertise? Or am I just being hopeful?
