Our goal to help EVERY cricket club become carbon balanced takes another big step this week with the launch of Carbon Centurions.

Carbon Centurions. provides an online community for the people that matter i.e. the carbon champions who measure, reduce and offset their club’s carbon emissions.  It also supports club officials, sponsors and anyone else who is interested in taking action against climate change in recreational sport.

Carbon Centurions allows members to join, message, email, load documents and photos, and work together in groups and forums.  We think of it as our own private Facebook site , but without the downsides. It can be configured to work the way we want to, and all data is secure and GDPR compliant. 

Crucially the network can grow organically by allowing champions to sign up themselves and invite others to join. Groups are already set up to connect people with shared interests, and forums to discuss specific tasks, but again members can create their own groups if they want to.

“Having our own online community will transform our ability to scale up the process started with the Carbon Centurions project,” explains Richard Parker who started the project earlier this year. “We want 100 clubs involved by end September and then onwards to reach the other 6,500 recreational cricket clubs who need help too.”
