The Victorians did it better (as usual)

Interesting to compare responses to hot weather whilst at a graduation ceremony in Nottingham last week.

What was originally a library (and is now an NTU refectory) has a beautifully engineered window opening system which still works perfectly and provides ample fresh air at the turn of a handle.

Our modern hotel (Travel Inn) had windows that hardly opened at all and relied instead on THREE costly, environmentally-unfriendly electric fans to provide air movement.

And we wonder why there is a climate emergency?
