Neutral Territory evolved from the Suffolk Low Carbon Champion programme which ran between 2010 and 2013.  This encouraged local SMEs through mentoring, training and funding to reducing carbon emissions and thereby achieve the Suffolk Carbon Charter at Bronze, Silver or Gold levels.

Refurb Photos 018Many of the eighty organisations that took part didn’t own the property in which they worked and found their landlords either unable or unwilling to support their efforts.

Claydon Court was the home of the first company to sign up to programme (Strident Technology) and invested nearly £100,000 in improving energy efficiency in their support (left).  Branding this as Neutral Territory is the way we will earn a return on that investment and boost the supply of similar properties in the future.

Maintaining momentum once the Suffolk Low Carbon Champions ended was difficult so we initiated our own version Low Carbon Champions CIC.  This is a Community Interest Company which uses disruptive ideas and technologies to widen appeal, scale up and deliver results at an affordable cost.
